Center Director and Floater Classroom Lead Teacher:

Hello! My Name is Mrs. Sarah and I am the Director and classroom teacher here at St. Paul. While the majority of my day is spent in the office I do spend time in each classroom every day to assist our teachers and be with the children. I have been here at St. Paul since March of 2014. Before that I was a classroom teacher and acting director at an early childhood center that was NAEYC accredited for over 8 years. In my spare time I enjoy decorating my new house, doing DIY home improvements, going on walks with my dog, Clark, and spending time with my family. I grew up in a city about 70 miles west of Chicago, where my parents currently still reside, and I have a younger brother whose name is Mike. For most of my life I have been a Chicago Cubs fan and I try to go to as many games a year that I can! Go Cubs Go!  I graduated from Kendall College in 2015 with a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Administration with a minor in Small Business Management. I currently hold a Level 2 Director Credential, a Level 5 ECE teacher credential, and a Level 2 Infant Toddler credential from Gateways Illinois. I am currently working on my Masters Degree in Administration from National Louis University.  I knew from a very young age that working with children was something that I dreamed to do. Now that dream is my reality!

Assistant Director and Preschool Classroom Lead Teacher:

Hello!  My name is Ms. Maggy. I am the Pre-K teacher and Assistant Director here at St. Paul. I have been working here since April of 2016, and feel that the staff, students, and families here are like a second family to me! Someone once told me that if you like what you do, you never have to work a day in your life, and that's how I feel when I'm here. I love spending my day in the classroom, and couldn't have found a better center to teach at!  In my personal time, I love spending time with my beautiful daughter, Annabelle, my amazing son Jackson,  and my fiancé Aaron! We enjoy going to the zoo and different museums together. I also love 🐱cats and shopping!!  I completed my Bachelors Degree at Kendal College in fall of 2018 and I am now attending National Louis to complete my Masters Degree. I have a Level 1 Directors Credential, a Level 5 ECE teacher credential, and a Level 2 Infant/Toddler credential from Gateways in Illinois.

Pre-K Classroom Assistant Teacher:

Hello my name is Ms. Samantha and I've been here since 2018. My daughters attended St. Paul from 2015 - 2018 and are now thriving in the local public school districts! I really enjoyed being with your children and I look forward to continuing to work alongside my coworkers to provide your child with the best possible environment where they can thrive, be loved, and have a safe space to learn.
Kindergarten Lead Teacher:

Hello! My name is Mrs. Lisa.  I am the Lead teacher in the Kindergarten classroom here at St. Paul.  I attended DePaul University where I obtained my Bachelor of Arts Degree in teaching.   Then I went on to obtain my Master of Arts in Teaching from National Louis University.   I have 10+ years’ combined experience teaching within district schools (grades 1 and 2), private preschools (ages 6 weeks to PreK), and low income/high risk junior high programs (ages 12-14). I currently hold a Level 4 ECE teacher credential from Gateways Illinois.

Here at St. Paul, our classroom learning environment is rooted in the school’s play-based philosophy and directly linked to St. Paul’s elected Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies authentic observation system.  Within the curriculum instruction, an ample amount of time is spent observing and documenting the children engaged in play. This process results in an in-depth understanding of what each child's personal strengths and challenges may be. This data provides us with ways in which to address a student’s individual strengths along with, “in need of further learning” topics and skills. Additionally, whole group lessons are an everyday occurrence.  The children partake in morning writing activities, hands on math lesson, exploratory science lessons, teacher lead read aloud stories and circle time.  Circle time is an invaluable whole group time when we collectively explore the days topics, calendar, weather, student experiences, personal reflection and songs. My kindergarten learning environment and classroom is one that focuses not only on 1st grade readiness but, on having fun while learning, becoming a confident early-learner and a kind person.

Floater Lead Teacher (all classrooms):

Hello my name is Mrs. Cheryl and I have been working part time at St. Paul since 2010.  I have been in the teaching field for over 40 years in various roles including being a 4th grade teacher, a Pre-K teacher, a Kindergarten teacher and an afterschool program director. In my spare time I enjoy traveling with my husband to see my son and daughter-in-law and two grandsons, Ben and Ollie, in Virginia.   My daughter was married in October of 2017 as well and she just welcomed her first son in the fall of 2018. I also love spending time with my daughter and son-in-law watching football, going to movies, and trying new local restaurants.  This school year I look forward to seeing all our familiar faces and greeting our new students and families!  I can't wait to share in your child's learning journey at St. Paul! I currently hold a Level 4 ECE teacher credential from Gateways Illinois.

Cook:

Hi! I am Mrs. Jude and I am the cook for the center.  I've been here at St. Paul since 2017 and I enjoy providing your children with all of the snacks and meals at the center throughout the day. I take inspiration from the children, I pay attention to their likes and dislikes, and I ensure that all of the children are provided a nutritious meal to sustain them for learning throughout the day!
